e.planning: timeline playback and rough cost estimation in the dashboard

Product Updatesapprox. 5 min read

Viewing measures along the time axis, estimating budgets early: what the latest release changes for investment planning.

Measures over time instead of as a list

The new timeline playback makes it possible to run expansion measures through the planning years. Instead of a static list, a sequence of grid states emerges: which measure takes effect when, which bottlenecks disappear as a result and which new ones appear elsewhere. This reveals dependencies between measures that get lost in a table.

In addition, the rough cost estimation provides an initial budget figure directly in the dashboard. It works with stored cost rates per measure type and quantity structure and does not replace a detailed calculation – it answers the earlier question: is this expansion path even within a plausible order of magnitude?

Together, the two shift the discussion forward. Variants can be compared by effect and budget frame while still at the planning stage, rather than only after detailed design.
